About the Artist

For photographer Heather Bubb-Clarke, VISUAL PASSIONS is more than just producing camera images – it is a journey of discovery.
Heather’s camera is her brush and the bountiful beauty of Mother Nature’s garden is her palette. For the last two years Heather pursed her life-long interest in art through the lens of her camera. Her company VISUAL PASSIONS is a realization of a dream come true.
Using digital photography to express her view of nature Heather tantalizes the viewer with images that range from the sharp, crisp stillness of a northern landscape to the rich, bold images of a tropical garden. It is the stark differences of the two worlds in which she lives that lend depth and beauty to her work. Like a fine composition of contracts, she is not afraid to venture beyond the norm – to offer the viewer another angle, another view to ponder. Rather than manipulate the natural beauty around her, Heather allows the lens of her camera to tell the story, taking particular delight in the unexpected.
Presented in a wide range of sizes on canvas or high quality photographic paper, her images are not merely a reproduction of her camera’s eyes, but a glimpse into her soul.
A resident of Toronto, Ontario where she moved in 1975, Heather works as Team Leader at Scotiabank. Throughout her 30-year professional career, Heather has expressed her artistic side through her music as the DJ for Livewire Disco Sound System and now, her new love – photography.
Heather’s love for art is endless; she also expresses herself by painting acrylic images taken from her photos. She is the Vice President of Arts and Culture Jamaica, here in Toronto.
Heather is a recent recipient of two photography awards – Outstanding Achievement in Amateur Photography and the Editor’s Choice Award for the photograph called “Two Hearts” which has been published in a journal called “Endless Journeys” which will be release in March 2006. Another of Heather’s photographs called “The Torch” was selected out of 8,523 entries to be published in a manuscript to be release later this spring.
Heather’s works have been displayed at the Jamaican Consulate, TTC, J Elizabeth Gallery and Scotiabank Corporate offices in Toronto as well as in various private collections throughout the Australia, United States, Canada, Cayman Islands and Jamaica.
